Differentiation Part 3 - Hoorah!
Rick Wormeli Differentiation PD Chapter 3 11/30/11
For today’s PD we are reviewing Chapter 3 of the differentiation book. Here is today’s agenda:
1. Please click on the following link: http://willyou.typewith.me/p/tfsoV9iSif
2. On this typewith.me site you will notice that every person in the group has a question assigned to them. You are the expert and must thoroughly explain your answer to the question.
3. Each person is responsible for their answer, as well as, adding a comment to at least four other people’s answers. Be reflective. Think about how this can change you current teaching.
4. Pay close attention to Question 11 where Joy is sharing her experience at the Rick Wormlei differentiation conference she went to yesterday. Perhaps pose a question or write a comment to Joy – she really is the expert!!
5. When you are finished with your reflections in cyberspace, please move on to writing lesson plans or unit plans incorporating some of the DI strategies you have learned in Chapter 3 (you may include Chapters 1 and 2 as well). Strategies from Chapter 3: Flexible grouping, collaboration with students, personal agendas, respectful tasks, compacting, the football strategy, the anchor structure and scaffolding instruction.
6. You may work collaboratively on the lesson planning, but by 3:15 every person should have a DI Lesson in their Sharepoint folder. Please include DI Lesson as well as the date it will be taught in the title of the Sharepoint document. For example: DI Lesson 12-16-11.
Please also consider how you can or continue to use some of these technology resources in your classroom with your students.
